Residential Design

Sanders Residence design

This area of design is the most diverse, and includes both elements of spacial creation and the art of creating aesthetic appeal for the homeowner, whose taste can be much different than that of the designer. With that said, the design process is a true dialog between the designer and the client in the residential context. Art, structural design, and functional creation of space all come together, and it can be both beautiful and very dynamic. It’s an exciting prospect. The following are some examples of designs we’ve completed, and more are available in the portfolio link at the bottom of the page.

The Sanders Residence, Fayetteville, AR

Sanders Residence designThis project offered a special challenge: to provide a landscape inspired by French Polynesia! The home had a large lagoon style pool done in black, with stone surrounds and boulders embedded around it. It was a joy pulling together elements suggestive of the South Pacific in the 6b climate context. It was a beautiful plan to work on.

The Schlegel Residence, Springdale, AR

Located in West Springdale, this residence presented the challenge of privacy from several surrounding homes, as many homes in subdivisions also present. It was important to create living space outdoors, as well as entertaining space for guests, but equally important to provide a sense of enclosure.

Horton Residence, Rogers, AR

Residential design in Rogers, ARThis residence presented a special challenge, in that the homeowner entertained many guests, including outdoor movie showings. An existing saltwater pool provided the basis of the circulation, but needed updating and imporved. The home had Italianate detailing, so it was a lovely project to be a part of.

The Wolfe Residence, Rogers, AR

This special home was tucked into the woods on a hillside, offering the first of several exciting challenges. The second challenge was to provide a diverse plant palette that would be as deer resistant as possible, while being also as maintenance free as possible. The nature of the wooded space behind the home was so special that it deserved to be celebrated.
