Eureka Landscapes is both old and new. Rick Shelton has designed numerous projects throughout Northwest Arkansas for over 20 years under three companies and as a solo practitioner, while Chris Shields has been the manager and administrator of Rick’s practice. The “new” comes in the form of a dream to settle in Eureka Springs and call it home. We settled in during the Summer of 2021, and look forward to growing the business we both dreamed of. At present, we are still operating in the Fayetteville area, but will move to the Eureka Springs location in mid-2024. Chris Shields is both the President of Eureka Landscapes and a Professor of Criminology at the University of Arkansas. He received his BA in Criminal Justice, MA in Sociology, JD in Law, and PhD in Public Policy. He has managed several business enterprises, and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Fayetteville Community Creative Center.

Rick Shelton has been a designer since 2000, following a career in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree in 2003, and set out on a long local career in landscape design.
